Crave!

So yeah, I've been out of my crate for 2 consecutive days. Haha. I've been itching to write about stuff but I wasn't able to find time to do so. :( Anywooy, it's time to put my thoughts onto paper(?) once again.

You see, I was really, really excited to graduate from high school and end all those school crap. I had been longing for our summer vacation. It was only about the first few, rubbish days of our vacay when something had finally hit me. I wouldn't want to spend the entire vacation dozing off, pigging out and busting my eyes off the television. I guess I've already made up for my constant sleepless nights and stomach grumblings during the entire school year. Haha! I have 3, lengthy months to spare before getting into college. I want to make this vacation kinda special, since I would be entering college soon. For the past 2 years, I had been spending my summer vacays brainlessly bumming around and I guess it's time to spend my vacation right. But here's the thing, I've got lots of ideas going on in my mind that being able to do all of them in this 3-month vacay might still be out of reach. I want to enroll in a modeling school, dance class and soccer clinic. Am also entertaining the idea of enrolling in Fitness First since it might be nice to spend the vacation fit and healthy. Haha! And lastly, I BADLY WANT A JOB.

Summer vacation has lots of perks but what sucks the most is that this equates to no moolah (Well, for me). I've spent the last cent of my savings even before March had ended. I'm broke, completely 0 balance. Exactly why I want a summer job. I'm even considering working while studying during college.  So I told Lola about my predicament. Surprisingly she told me that we would be meeting up with Tito Edwin. Tito Edwin's been a long-time family friend. I heard he's as a good mentor 'cause my mom worked as his secretary when she just graduated from college way back. So according to legends... Hahah according to my mom, he had trained her very well and has taught her lots of things, one of which is discipline.

So there, last wednesday we went to his condo and talked about random stuff. His condo btw was so amazing! :)) The view's exhilarating. And the furniture were really scrupulously arranged. Anyway, after about 2 hours of chitchat, Lola finally asked Tito Edwin if he could hire or train me in one of his call centers since I would only be bummed for 3 tedious months. And to our surprise, he rebuffed Lola's plea. Huhu

But that was when I started to learn a lot of things from him.

He asked me what course would I be taking up in college. I told him I'd be taking up interior design in PSID. He then asked, "What skills do you have ba? :)" My mind went nuts! I didn't know what to say. I was so startled that I just made a joke out of it. "Err, staying up late in front of the computer? Haha!" "I could let you be our security guard then!" :)) We laughed it off and he continued, "You see. We hire people with experience and skills. I couldn't just hire you just because your lola asked me to do so. We're looking for people who has skills to offer. We don't actually pay the person, we pay for that person's dexterty--based on what skills he has to offer. Ako, I don't really look at people's bio datas. I won't get anything from there. All that's written there would only affirm him/her. What I do is that, during interviews, I ask them what could they offer my company. And if that person's certain skill would be fit for any position, then that's the only time I'd hire him/her. Don't rush, you still have lots to learn. You're very young. You just graduated from high school and you've got a little bit of everything. That's why when you enter college, I suggest you start to focus on your strengths, work on your weaknesses, develop a skill and excel in it."

He suggested that I start to learn a new language. He told me that globalization's the trend now and competition would get even more tense by the time I get to graduate. Therefore, the best thing I could do is to enhance and hone a talent--a talent that not so many people may be able to attain, or have; an ability that would be my edge among others in the future. He talked more, and the more words that came out of his mouth, the more my perspective changed.  His words carried great weight. I mean, the way he looks at things.. It's just so full of depth! He reminds me of Philip. He's a good friend of mine who sees things diversely. He's a person who's full of instensity. Like, if you ask him to tell something about let's say.. table salt, he'd separate the sodium from the chlorine and be able to make life out of that. Hahaha!

Okay so Lola's calling for dinner, I don't know how to end this post nicely.  :|Um bye?
